Easy Lymphatic System Care

If you spend any time down the wellness rabbit hole, you eventually realize that so many things we chase—energy, clear skin, less puffiness, overall vitality—come down to a system we rarely talk about: our lymphatic system.

Unlike your heart, which has a built-in pump, your lymphatic system doesn’t have one. It relies entirely on movement, breathing, and muscle contractions to keep things flowing. If you’re sitting a lot, STRESSED, or just moving through a busy week, things can get a little... sluggish.

About a year and half ago, I came across Dr. Perry Nickelston’s (aka the "Lymph Doc")work and his famous sequence called "The Big 6."

What is "The Big 6"?

In a nutshell, it’s a quick series of self-massage and tapping movements targeting the major lymph node clusters in your body—starting up by your collarbones and working your way down. The idea is to clear out the main drainage pathways so fluid and inflammation can actually move where they’re supposed to go.

The best part? It takes like two minutes.

My Real-Life Experience

I like to keep things real around here, so I’m not going to sit here and promise miracles. Honestly? I can’t say for 100% certainty whether it’s a magic bullet for everything.

But, I genuinely enjoy doing it, and I’ve actually noticed a real change in the malar edema on my face when I'm consistent with it. That stubborn under-eye/upper-cheek fluid puffiness is tough to budge, and having a simple, hands-on tool that seems to help makes it worth keeping in the toolkit.

The Real Struggle: Consistency

Here is my confession: I used to do it every single day.

And then... life happened.

You know how it goes. You're tired, you have a million things pulling at you, your routine gets derailed, and suddenly weeks have flown by. It is so easy to fall out of healthy habits, even the ones that take less time than brushing your teeth.

So, consider this my official accountability post :). I need to get back into it, and maybe you do, too.

Sometimes wellness isn't about overhauling your entire life with a 10-step protocol. Sometimes it’s just remembering to take two minutes, clear your drainage points, and take a deep breath.

Tip: I usually like to add 10 minutes on my vibration plate afterwards.

Why? Because whole-body vibration is practically a cheat code for lymphatic drainage. Since the lymphatic system relies entirely on movement and muscle contractions to circulate fluid, standing or doing gentle movements on a vibration plate forces rapid, micro-muscle contractions throughout your entire body. It acts as an artificial pump, helping to push all that freshly mobilized lymph fluid right along its way. Plus, it just feels amazing and wakes up the nervous system.
